Also home to one of the most important Italian Renaissance painters: Pietro Vannucci called “Il Perugino”, master of Raphael whose works are exhibited in major galleries around the world.
Walking distance from Grove Cottage the town, with a plethora of churches, museums, artisan and boutique shops, A beautiful chocolate-box theatre, lively cafe’s, excellent restaurants and speciality food stores. Along with 3 cookery schools, wineries and weekly markets really does offer something for every discerning traveller. Whilst also being just a short drive from some of the Umbria and Tuscany’s most famous hilltop towns.
Or for skiing, nearby Mount Amita offers slopes for a range of abilities. Or for those who’d prefer a restorative pampering plan a visit to one of the nearby world-class spas, take a dip in Umbria’s famed thermal waters or perhaps indulge in a luxurious therapy treatment.
The cottage is also a short drive from the main-line train station from where you can enjoy day-trips to Florence, Rome, Sienna or Arezzo and still return in time for dinner.
Perugia’s international airport and Italy’s main A1. motorway are also just a short drive away.
